The Federal Trade Commission requires that I disclose any relationship I have between a product manufacturer or service provider when I write about a product or service.
Here are the guidelines I operate under here at the Openly Game blog:
- If I create a link to a product or service in a review, I may get paid a commission if you purchase the product or service.
- At some point I may be paid to do a review. If I am, I will let you know. Also, if I think a product is crappy in some way, I will let you know. (If you want me to review your product and it’s not something you would recommend to your mom or sibling to purchase, it’s better to redesign your product.)
- Products offered for review will be reviewed honestly at all times.
- No advertiser will ever influence the content, topics or posts made in this blog. I will make corrections if something is incorrect, but don’t ask me to take down a negative review. Not happening.
There are a lot of people out there that will rip you off. It’s important for you to understand the relationship between a person or a blog reviewing products and the manufacturer or service provider.
If you don’t see a disclosure policy on a blog, that reviewer may be violating the law or at the very least the Code of Ethics.
The opinions on this blog are mine and may not reflect the opinions of anyone I work or game with.
